June 2022 Justinian Member of the Month
This month, the Justinian Society proudly spotlights the accomplishments of The Honorable Daniel R. Sulman is a judge in the Family Division of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, where he served from July of 2016 to January of 2018 and from December of 2019 through the present, following appointments to the bench by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf and election in 2021. The Judge is a lifelong resident of Philadelphia, a graduate of Philadelphia public schools and magna cum laude graduate of Temple University. This month, the Justinian Society proudly spotlights the accomplishments of The Honorable Craig Levin who is a judge of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He assumed office on January 3, 2022. His current term ends January 5, 2032. Judge Levin was born and raised in Philadelphia. His life has been shaped by the communities where he grew up: First in West Oak Lane, then moving as a teenager to the Northeast. He attended Philadelphia Public Schools, graduating from Temple University with a B.S. in Finance and earned his Juris Doctorate from the Delaware School of Law at Widener University. He was elected to the Superior Court of Pennsylvania in November 2003 and sworn into office as an appellate judge on January 9, 2004 and retained in 2013. On January 7, 2019, he was elected President Judge.   Justinian Foundation Accepting Scholarship Applications

JUSTINIAN FOUNDATION

TO: ALL MEMBERS OF JUSTINIAN SOCIETY LAW SCHOOL CHAPTERS

RE: SCHOLARSHIP TOWARD THIRD YEAR TUITION

The Justinian Society, founded in 1935 by and for attorneys of Italian ancestry in Philadelphia and the surrounding community, has established a Scholarship Foundation for the benefit of law school students who are members of the Justinian Society chapter at their law school.
 
The scholarship will be awarded to a member the Justinian Society Chapter at Philadelphia-area law schools, to help defray the cost of the third year tuition.  The scholarship will be in the amount of at least $1,500.00 and will be paid directly to the law school.

In order to quality for the scholarship, a recipient must:

1) be a member in good standing of a Justinian Society Chapter at a Philadelphia-area law school;
2) have Italian parents or grandparents;
3) have achieved excellence in academic studies;
4) have a record of service to their school and/or community;
5) be a person of the highest integrity who shows a sincere desire to be of service to his or her fellow human beings and has exhibited the potential to be a credit to the profession of law;
6) be a second year student preparing for graduation in Year 2009; and
7) demonstrate financial need to complete third year.

If you are interest in applying for this scholarship, to be awarded in June 2008, at a Justinian Society Luncheon, please complete the application and return to Nicholas J. Lisi, Esquire, at 1900 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 19103.
