The Justinian Society and Foundation Host 80th Anniversary, Honor the Chairman of Philadelphia Energy Solutions and Present Law School Scholarships
The Justinian Society and Foundation hosted their 80th Anniversary on June 6, 2016, honoring Philip Rinaldi, Chief Executive Officer & Chairman of the Board, Philadelphia Energy Solutions LLC. The Foundation also presented three scholarships to outstanding law student.

Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas Judge and Justinian Society member, the Honorable Annette Rizzo will be honored on October 18th by the Roxborough Lodge of the Order Sons of Italy in America as their Person of the Year.
The Passing of Past Justinian Chancellor, Nicholas J. Lisi
Our friend and Past Chancellor of The Justinian Society, Nicholas J. Lisi, has passed away. Nicholas J. Lisi, 68 of Wayne, PA, died on Saturday at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, after a long and courageous battle. Mr. Lisi, an attorney in Philadelphia with the firm of Padova and Lisi, was born in Vineland, NJ.
Proposed Closure of the Italian Consulate in Philadelphia
Within the past month, the Italian government announced the planned closures of two consulate offices in the United States: Philadelphia and Detroit. We encourage members of The Justinian Society to send letters requesting reconsideration of the Italian Consulate closure in Philadelphia to the Italian government.
NIAF/Abruzzo Relief Fund
The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) has established a special NIAF/Abruzzo Relief Fund to help the victims and their families who perished from the recent earthquake in the town of L’Aquila and other small towns in central Italy in the region of Abruzzo.

The Justinian Society and Foundation held their annual meeting and general election luncheon on June 10, 2009. The Honorable Louis J. Presenza was recognized at the luncheon for his many years of service to both Philadelphia’s legal community and the community at large. At the 2009 luncheon, Justinian members also unanimously elected its officers and members of its Board of Governors

Roberta D. Pichini elected Vice President of International Academy of Trial Lawyers
Roberta D. Pichini, Esquire, Secretary of the Justinian Society, was recently elected to the position of Vice President of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers at their annual meeting in Atlanta. She will automatically succeed to the positions of President-Elect and President in the next two years.
Judge Annette Rizzo honored by Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network
The Honorable Annette Rizzo was honored with the 2009 Excellence Award from the Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network. The award was presented on March 31st in Harrisburg. The Justinian Society sends its heartfelt congratulations to Judge Rizzo on receiving this prestigious award.

Justinian Society Announces Endorsements for Bar Association Board of Governors
The Justinian Society of Philadelphia announced today the endorsement of five candidates for the Philadelphia Bar Association Board of Governors. The Justinian Society also congratulates its immediate past chancellor, Rudolph Garcia, who is running uncontested for Vice Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association.
Chief Justice Ronald Castille and Judge Annette Rizzo Honored by Justinians
On October 1, 2008, the Justinian Society of Philadelphia honored Pennsylvania Supreme Court Chief Justice Ronald D. Castille and Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge Annette M. Rizzo. Chief Justice Castille, the keynote speaker, was awarded The Justinian Society Outstanding Service Award. Judge Rizzo was presented with the Judge Lisa A. Richette Outstanding Woman in the Law Award. The Justinian Society to host one of the locations for the Mayor’s Citywide “Spring Clean-up” on April 5th at 9:00am at FDR Park, Swedish Museum at 19th and Pattison. The Honorable Louis J. Presenza, President Judge of the Municipal Court of Philadelphia, and a member of the Justinian Society, will be honored with the prestigious 2006 Justice William J. The reception was held at the office of Miller, Alfano & Raspanti, P.C. at 1818 Market Street, Suite 3402, in Philadelphia. Judge Alfred J. Justinian Society member G. Fred DiBona, Jr. lost his battle with kidney cancer on the morning of January 11, 2005. Mr. DiBona was 53 years old.
